Bamberg is a small but lively university city with an historic atmosphere and a distinctive cultural life. It is easy to get about in this picturesque and friendly city. A priority of the University is good administrative and support systems enabling students to concentrate on their studies and finish in good time. For this reason, some courses have achieved a place in the rankings as a “Study Tip for the Determined Student” over many years.
The courses offered by the University of Bamberg are distinctive in their interdisciplinary focus and in the linking of the humanities to work-related applications. The current range of courses offered is both varied and specialized, with 15 “Diplom” courses, a “Magister” program offering 23 different fields of study, 16 Bachelor courses and ten Master courses, as well as courses leading to teaching qualifications for all types of school.
Innovative new courses, such as the Master course in Business Education with an emphasis on IT, the Bachelor and Master courses in Applied Computer Science and Interdisciplinary Medieval Studies, as well as the Master courses in the Preservation of Historic Monuments and Interreligious Studies, are, in their conception, exceptional within Germany.
