Universität der Bundeswehr München 
  
The Universität der Bundeswehr Munich was founded in 1973 with the aim of offering a well-rounded academic education to officers and officer candidates. Training is designed to prepare these officers for a civilian career, too, since most of them leave the Bundeswehr after 12 years of service. The number of students in attendance has increased continuously since its founding: Today, 3,200 students are enrolled, including some 250 women, 40 civilians, and roughly 150 foreign students.
